What is TrimDown?
TrimDown is a high-performance macOS Markdown editor designed for consultants and analysts to streamline professional document delivery and workflow.
How does it work?
TrimDown allows you to import documents you want to send to an AI engine, substantially reducing the input tokens. You can review and verify the translation, similarly to what the AI engine will do, verify and correct as required. You have full control, versus just sending files to the engine.

Can I import Word files?
Yes, you can import Word and PDF files directly into Markdown for seamless editing and conversion back to Word format.
When importing Word file, you can decide whether you want the images to be included in a separate folder with links.
When importing PDF with charts, you can decide whether you want TrimDown to just convert the charts to data tables, or add Mermaid language to represent the charts in the TrimDown Preview and export to PDF/Word.
The folder of pictures is bigger than my original file. Why?
A Word file or a PDF is a compressed archive. TrimDown writes the pictures out beside your Markdown so the preview can show them and so an export can put them back, and unpacked pictures take more room than packed ones. Nothing was added. The pictures never leave your Mac. What you send to your AI model is the Markdown file alone.
